Olivier Rousteing è Direttore Creativo di Balmain dal 2011. Nato nel 1985, è stato adottato in tenera età ed è cresciuto a Bordeaux, in Francia. Ha studiato moda presso l’École Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode di Parigi. A 18 anni si è trasferito in Italia, dove ha lavorato per cinque anni da Roberto Cavalli, iniziando come stagista e crescendo rapidamente e con costanza all'interno dell'azienda fino a diventare Designer per le collezioni prêt-à-porter maschili e femminili. Quando si è presentata l’opportunità di tornare a Parigi per lavorare da Balmain, Rousteing l’ha colta al volo, entrando a far parte del team creativo della maison per due anni, prima di essere nominato Direttore Creativo. A soli 25 anni, Rousteing è diventato uno dei più giovani talenti mai chiamati a guidare una storica maison parigina. Da allora, ha portato avanti con cura l’eredità del fondatore, Pierre Balmain, riuscendo al contempo a infondere il suo stile distintivo nei codici della maison.
 

Olivier Rousteing has been Creative Director of Balmain since 2011. Born in 1985, Rousteing was adopted at a young age and grew up in Bordeaux, France. He studied fashion at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode in Paris. At 18, he moved to Italy, where he worked at Roberto Cavalli for five years, beginning as an intern and rising swiftly and steadily through the ranks to the position of Designer for the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections. When the opportunity arose for him to return to Paris to work at Balmain, Rousteing seized it, forming a part of the house’s design team for two years before being named Creative Director. At just 25, Rousteing became one of the youngest talents ever appointed to lead a historic Parisian fashion house. Since then, he has been carefully building upon the legacy of the house’s founder, Pierre Balmain, while successfully infusing his own distinctive style into the fashion house's design codes.
