Angelo Fabricio Urrutia was born in San Miguel, El Salvador, and came to America as a refugee during the Salvadoran Civil War. Urrutia grew up in New York and finished high school in Brentwood, Long Island. He started his career in fashion at Nepenthes America, when the brand Engineered Garments was founded by Daiki Suzuki. With a nontraditional fashion and education background, Urrutia met the Nepenthes team through a friend. He worked in all aspects of the business, shifting between production, creative, and event styling. Urrutia later went on to head sales for the brand, all the while working closely with Daiki Suzuki on design, development, styling, and managing the brand and business.

He also designed various sub-labels for the Japanese Market and worked on all collaborative efforts, footwear, clothing, pop-ups and art gallery shows. The Nepenthes NY team is his family, he grew up working for Daiki Suzuki and honed and learned the craft of the fashion business with him. Urrutia started in J 4SDESIGNSanuary of 2020, before the pandemic started.
