Speaker Bio
Jackson Wiederhoeft is an artist, storyteller, and designer. They studied fashion design at Parsons, winning “Women’s Designer of the Year” for their thesis collection in 2016. From there, they designed for Thom Browne for three years, working on the women’s runway collections. These years provided an opportunity to focus on craft and concept, engaging in the creation of couture-level garments. Jackson launched Wiederhoeft’s debut collection, “Spooky Couture,” in October 2019. In 2022, Wiederhoeft was named a finalist of the Vogue / CFDA Fashion Fund. That September, Wiederhoeft presented their first runway show, a mélange of faerie-tale inspired looks set to choreography of unbridled childlike emotion. In the two years following, Wiederhoeft has expanded its footprint and fleshed out a niche of highly emotional garments. The collections continue to represent ready-to-wear, eveningwear, and bridal – showing the full range of Wiederhoeft, which is not so much a time of day or a seasonal trend, but a way of life for passionate, humorous, curious people.
The theatrical, whimsical garments empower the wearer with a fantastical sense of self – worn by iconic musicians like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Lil’ Kim, to comedic stars like Chloe Fineman, Rachel Sennott, and Ziwe. The bridal collections have become a mainstay of the brand – engaging with the same sensation, and utilizing the signature architectural corsetry and intricate embroideries. In 2023, Jackson was inducted as an interim member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
